I would 100% recommend the Story Hotel Pera to Istanbul visitors for 3 key reasons. 1. Location: The hotel is steps from the top of the Karakoy-Beyoğlu funicular and near Şişhane station, on a quiet side street off of Istiklal. 2. Service: The staff are extremely helpful. On check-in they gave us a curated list of restaurants in the Istanbul area (including some Michelin-starred ones!). And, they are extremely thoughtful. On the last night of my stay, I was greeted with a surprise birthday cake left for me as an extremely thoughtful gesture from the staff. 3. Attention to detail: I’m a picky sleeper, but unlike most hotels that give you an assortment of whatever pillows they have available at any given time, this boutique provided each guest with a soft and a firm pillow. The mattress was also firm and bedding was comfy.

Stunning location- would stay in that area again. Hotel staf v helpful and friendly and room perfectly decent and extremely quiet considering the local life, but no daylight in the rooms we had. We also had to request a different room as the one given was much smaller, with an uncomfortable sofa bed for my son rather than a second bed as photos showed. We were moved without drama after one night when a room became available

What's the story? Better than Oasis.

I wasconcerned that an hotel parading its values uses Nestle coffee, when Nestle has a long history of contributing to infant deaths in Africa by encouraging new mothers to abandon breast feeding and use formula, which needs water. The water is often contaminated so the children get dysentery and die.
