Very bad property, looks nothing like the pictures, its located in a very bad are, even though we were 2 guys we still were scared to leave our room at night.

Don’t book this place. Place in the back streets and six days there it was never cleaned. The toilets flood if you take a shower and if you decide to wash your hands the sinks leaks badly and floods the toilet. You easily see underneath the bed what was left by the previous occupant months ago. It is very noisy and not safe. They charge me quite some money for a pig whole. There is never anybody to reach out to in case of emergency or even simple queries.

i don't recommend this hotel to anyone , upon checkin my reservation was not in the hotel system , then the checkin process took more than 15 minutes , the receptionist assigned me in bad small room with the worst view , bedlight were missing , the phone was not working , the smell from the washroom , housekeeping attendant was not trained to knock the door or ask the permission before entering to the room

Convenient location - near to Taksim Square

We were received by the very helpful Mr Hassan - who was extremely cooperative. All our needs were catered to and we had an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Will definitely recommend Lemon Residence to all fellow travellers going to Istanbul for either a short or long stay.

Small Hotel but not bad

Wifi was too slow and I couldn't use any , Area a bit unsafe , Close to Taksim , Clean room , Small hotel , No view , Most of the lights were not work , No drinking water at room , Blankets and bedsheets was not clean and some dirty points on the bedsheets

Terrible neighborhood

Did not feel safe. Heard machine gun fire one night and lots of yelling in the alley outside. Whole place reeked of cifarette smoke. There was rarely ever anyone at the front desk. No food or water provided. Ended up moving to the Santa Ottoman hotel on the other side of the road, closer to the Istaklal. Stay safe and book elsewhere!

I wouldn't call it a hotel, it consisted of about 10 small rooms, but it has all the amenities you could get for that price. The staff was very nice people, they would address our concerns immediately. I couldn't find safety box in my room and I told them this was what I read over the internet. So they installed one in my room! They speak English fluently. I was shocked at first by seeing the quality of the hotel, but the nice and kind staff changed my attitude after two days. Plus, I heard many bad experiences with hotel in the same price range in Istanbul, that I felt I was lucky that everything went smoothly in Lemon Residence. The hotel is overall clean, comparing to city. The hotel was close to taksim square. If you don't have luggage, walk to the hotel from metro and avoid taxi drivers. Or, simply arrange a tax with hotel for pick up and drop off the airport. The service is really safe and cheap, comparing to taxi drivers. and payment is through hotel. The hotel is located near tourism attractions of Istkilal street. and you can hear the noises all the night. If you need a quiet place to sleep, don't count on this hotel, or decide not to bother yourself to go to bed. Next to the hotel, in a very narrow street, there are ALWAYS a group of men drinking tea and playing cards. They make noises, but make you feel safe when you pass that narrow alley at nights. what else? you can find grocery stores and liquor store close by. and free drinking water and coffee in hotel.

Hotel close to Taksim Square

Very convenient location, only stay one night after my cruise and I was able to see a lot in the old city of Istanbul. Took the big red bus for city tour, took the cruise tour to get a closer look on all buildings along the Golden Horn.

Amazing for low budget! definitely recommend it

I am very happy to have chosen this hotel, Mehmet made my stay very enjoyable. the location is great, its less than 2 mins walk from Istiklal street. it was a bit difficult to find the hotel at first, but then, its very simple. Room was very clean, service amazing, Mehmet was great help in terms of recommending places to go, and how to get around the city. I gave this hotel a total 5 stars rating, and will defenitely stay there again upon my return to Istanbul.

...it is just a 'cheap pension" sold expensive !!

This is just a 10 rooms "pension" in the very old neighbourhood of Taksim. I have paid 70 Euro/night, while after due evaluation it should be priced 40-45 max. The room was cleaned but the type of furniture and appliances are on the "cheap' side. Free Internet worked fine. A great Tks to the day shift manager who is very kind and cooperative. A plus point is about Istiklala Caddesi, the shopping street and and the typycal fish market, where plenty of small restaurants serving delicious food is there. If I would book same 'Pension' again? Well...I dont think so ! Cheers

First Impressions....

When you arrive here, especially at night as we did, you really wonder. Small dark alley, old run down buildings. So the faint of heart beware. But Lemon residence is nice, wonderful staff. It is just across the main road from a very fun, trendy area. You can walk there (Taksim) down through Beyoglu, past Galata Tower, over Bridge and to Plaka area. We enjoyed walking over the metro...just make sure you have a map.

what an amazing hotel !

i stayed there 6 days , my trip to Istanbul was amazing , but thanks to the comfortable and good location hotel , rooms were extra clean , staff were absolutely friendly specially Mohammed , very helpful . they make you feel like home . ask him for turkish coffee in the morning and let him prepare you toasted bread :)

Excellent location, quite and clean

If you are looking to stay in a quite place in Taksim this location will be the best choice, it is on the other side of a main street from the bars and clubs so you dont hear any noise while it is a 1-2 minutes walking distance to istiklal street. Hotel staff is very helpful, the owner mehmet will be there for most of your visit and he is willing to help you get around istanbul and show you where to get the best deals and what areas to avoid etc... The hotel strategy is to spend extra money on the cleanliness of the rooms, there is a cleaning lady per five rooms while other hotels have one per 20 on average. Overall a good strategy to get customers satisfied.
