"Hotel very tired. I was in a single room which felt very shoehorned in. There were no windows so felt a bit claustrophobic even though a bit of daylight came in from the skylight. Schloss Roxburghe Golf Resort, Part of Hyatt
"We booked a 2-bedroom cottage due to the fact there were no twin rooms available in the main hotel. Our booking included breakfast and we assumed this would be in the main hotel; however this was not the case and instead it was based around a credit or voucher to be used in the on-site market shop where the choice was limited. Not clear at all on the Expedia site. The hotel staff were helpful and did allow us to take breakfast in the main hotel without an additional charge in view of the obvious misunderstanding. Please be aware of this fact if you are booking the cottages as breakfast in the hotel was £32.50 per person! Also, again we assumed that as the cottages were part of the Roxburghe estate we would be able to use the spa facilities (one of the main reasons we booked there in the first place). Alas, yet another misunderstanding as free access is not included for guests staying in the cottages and the cost for a 4 hour visit was £65 per person which is steep given what is on offer (a pool, 2 saunas, a whirlpool and relaxation area). Once again the hotel responded well by offering us 1 complimentary visit but beyond this we would have to pay. Overall the hotel was excellent and the service good. However, staying in the cottages does not entitle guests to much if any of the facilities of the hotel (unless you pay) and the lack of twin rooms in the hotel itself is puzzling given the size of the hotel."
