Great Hotel with Beautiful Views

The hotel offers a shuttle service that picks you up from the train station, which is convenient. However, it doesn’t provide any guidance for visiting Mount Fuji, so we had to navigate on our own using the Hakone Travel Pass. It would have been much easier if there had been a tour guide or tourist bus that took us directly, even if we had to pay for it. Another area for improvement is the internet, which was a bit unreliable and sometimes cut out at night. The room was comfortable but could use some improvements. It featured an electric kettle and a fridge, which were great for enjoying tea in the evening. The onsen was excellent, with wonderful hot spring water, although the facility could benefit from some updates and a bit more attention to its decor. Overall, the experience was great. The hotel offers stunning lake views with a glimpse of Mount Fuji, but if you want a closer view, the hotel doesn't provide any services to help with that. As foreigners, we were unable to rent a car, so we had to rely on local transport in Hakone, which made getting around a bit slower. Still, everything was overall very good.

A beautiful property on Lake Ashinoko with stunning views of Mt Fuji. Extremely close to the rope-way that takes you up to the shrine on the mountain with even more breathtaking views. Lovely rooms, helpful staff. Dining options are limited to the hotel as it is too remote to get anywhere else. Nice outdoor onsen

Our accommodation was wonderful with friendly and helpful staff. However, the price tag of their Japanese style restaurant was overly priced. For example, a small plate of tempura was around $25 USD. We ordered our dinner a La carte and was 19,000 yen, around $122 USD. If we had done a set menu, average price would have been over $120/pp. The highlight was a 3 minute walk to the doorway to the view of Mt. Fuji, about 1800 yen/pp. we had great opportunity for pictures!

Overall a nice stay

We stayed here at the end of our Japan trip. The service was incredible, everyone was hopping up to help whenever we needed. Huang at the bell service specifically was very helpful to us. She helped us from start to finish. Food is expensive and there really isn’t another breakfast or dinner option around as most restaurants nearby close at 3-4pm. The food was good but not sure about value there. The room was spacious and there was a king bed which is hard to come by in Japan so we enjoyed that. The decor is definitely dated but from what we saw, majority of the clientele are older folks so they probably enjoy it. Atmosphere was very relaxing and we saw Mount Fuji everyday of our trip from the lawn of the hotel. There’s a free shuttle from Okawara Station, just be sure to book in advance on their website and there’s also a free shuttle to and from the town area of Hakone each day which was fabulous. Overall a nice stay.

Truly five star accommodation in an immaculate setting. The level of service is actually six star. The hot springs (Onsen) were well kept and stocked with soaps and lotions and grooming aids. We dined at the well stocked buffet because we were there for one night but a longer stay would have included the French and Japanese cuisine.
