DarkSkies Hideaway an experience you will remember

Welcome to Dark Skies Hideaway! An adorable guest house with amazing views! Take it easy in a unique and tranquil getaway. Not just a place to lay your head but an experience for all that enter. Enjoy the amazing sunrises and sunsets in a peaceful setting as you sit on your front porch. Lie in bed and look at the stars through the sky lights overhead. The dark skies allow you to see the milky way in all it's glory! This is paradise in the making!
The space
This is a studio home with a bedroom area, well equipped kitchen, pantry and closet area, a sitting area with TV and electric fireplace. There is a spa and outdoor shower that is shared with the owners of the home. They are next to the main house but there is a privacy fence up. We will respect your privacy, all you have to do is ask, a BBQ will be available for your use as well at your cottage.
Guest access
You will have access to the cottage, the spa and out door shower. You are always welcome to join us on the main house porch if we are sitting outside enjoying the beautiful scenery. You have your own parking area as well.

The rental was absolutely stunning—far more beautiful in person than the photos could ever capture. It offered such a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere, making it the perfect getaway. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. It’s about a 20-minute drive into town, but the scenic views along the way made every trip worthwhile. We even got to see quite a bit of wildlife, which was a special touch. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a serene and memorable stay.

Beautiful home with excellent views. Very comfortable stay. We really appreciated the quick and easy communication with the host. It had everything we needed for our trip. Hot tub was easy to use and just what we needed at end of the day. One tiny complaint was the dust that was falling down from the fan in the kitchen. Huge chucks of dust were falling everywhere and onto the table we were eating at. Also the air vent in middle of the house is very dusty as well. Hopefully a quick wipe down of theses areas will make someones next stay perfect! Thank you again

The skylight above the bed is absolutely amazing!! Vickie and Don are very gracious host. They gave us privacy as we enjoyed the hot tub. Very clean home. Plenty of towels and a comfy bed. No complaints from us. We definitely want to return.

Accommodations were exceptional! Vickie was so easy to work with and super fast to respond. I’ve been to several VRBO properties, and don’t feel as though I’ve ever had such spot on descriptions of the property, detailed instructions on how to get to the property, and amenities available. The Verbo we rented was exceptionally clean. Owner made sure all needs were met. Goodies, chips etc were available on the coffee table , which were appreciated after our long drive. The deco was exceptional sweet the bored out the large windows. I’d love to return when we have more time to make use of the home longer.

Oh my gosh!!! This place was BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING! I’m so glad we booked this place! Check in and check out was easy and painless, communication was perfect, and the hosts were so hospitable and we enjoyed meeting them. I HIGHLY recommend staying here and if get a chance to love on their sweet pup you should do that as well. We hope to stay here again.

The area was absolutely beautiful!! It’s only about 20 minutes from downtown Fredericksburg so it was perfect! We woke up on our last morning to the cows in the front yard and it was such a beautiful way to end our stay!! Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Peaceful Getaway

Wanted a quiet place to stay for the July 4th weekend and this place was perfect! Loved seeing all the deer, rabbit, cows and birds. The space was perfect for my husband and I and the sunsets spectacular!

The photos do not do this place justice. Vickie and Don were beyond hospitable upon our arrival. They have the most beautiful property and guest home. The amount of intention Vickie put into decorating the guest house shows and you’ll feel at home as soon as you step inside. We enjoyed our coffee on our private porch and watched as deer and goats explored in the distance. We intend to come back here again before we move out of state at the end of the year.

Super nice property about 20 miles outside of Fredericksburg with lots of animals and beautiful scenery. It’s a private, fully setup and stocked guest house with everything one would need except for food items. We would not hesitate to come back it was that nice!

A Quick Escape

Just had the best last-minute sister trip! We really needed a getaway, and this spot was absolutely perfect. Vickie and Don are such wonderful hosts. I got a bit turned around with directions, but Vickie swooped in to save the day! I wouldn't change a thing about this place. It was exactly what i needed to recharge-so peaceful and quiet. Waking up to those stunning views and sipping my coffee outside while soaking in the sounds of nature was pure bliss. Honestly the pictures online do not do this place justice. I'll definitely be back and can't wait to recommend this hidden gem to everyone!
