Flying Tips & Tricks How do I find my flight number?
  • After booking, look through the itinerary that's been sent to your inbox. You'll see a code made up of numbers and letters on the first page. It's a good idea to print out this document or save it to your phone in case you need to make a change to your flight.
How early can you check bags for a flight?
  • Check-in and baggage drop times can vary between airlines. But if you're taking an international flight, aim to be at the terminal at least three hours before departure. Taking a domestic flight? You can usually check your luggage in at least two hours before takeoff. Latecomers take note — check-in generally closes an hour before takeoff for international flights and 45 minutes before for domestic ones.

We ha difficulty finding our gate because no one told us we were in the wrong terminal. Then it was difficult to find out how to get to terminal 1.

Two out of four bathrooms in economy were out of commission.

😠Lost luggage. After calling the airlines several times it looks as though my luggage was never checked in at the George Bush Airport in Houston. Luggage should always be able to be tracked no matter the situation but none of the airline staff was able to say where my luggage was. This being my very 1st trip to Africa I was severely dissatisfied with arriving at my destination with my luggage nowhere to be found.

Ethiopian Airlines had overbooked the flight by 20%. So 1 of every 5 passengers were left to look for other flights. This was a terrible experience. The staff did what they could to help but the situation was just terrible. I am not flying Ethiopian Airlines again. Be aware.

Very impressed.

Impressed overall

Got put in the middle seat on all but one flight. Head rests are uncomfortable because they push your head forward too far so it hurts your neck. One plane was newer and had better/more movie options which was appreciated. Blanket and pillow were nice. Food was decent, though more fruits/veggies would have been nice. My biggest complaint was getting stuck in the middle seat on 3 out of 4 flights, despite choosing window/isle seats. Was VERY uncomfortable considering how long the flights were. Staff on flights were courteous, as well as the staff at Dulles. Staff at Addis Ababa (when departing) were not very helpful however.

In-Flight service from air hostesses was very good indeed but food, especially the bread, tasted stale. Aircraft lavatories stayed clean throughout the flight. All said and done, overall good experience. I will recommend this airline.

The transfer process at Addis is rather stressing with queues going to security screening. I didn’t know why we were clamped together moving through very narrow spacing. An explanation could have reduced my worries of missing the next flight. But thank God I made it just on time! Merry Christmas

I know it sounds crazy, but we should get an Ethiopian blanket each.
