We anticipated a very up to date clean venue for the 250.00 we paid. What we got was a outdated cabin. There was NO television, no telephone, no refrigerator, a terrible mattress. REALLY. I complained and got a room in the lodge. Breakfast is extra . A cold continental breakfast. Avoid this venue till they update or discount the prices.

The spiritual DAO elements combined with the Colorado rustic mountain lodge yielded a lovely feeling of relaxation; however, the amenities and condition of the facilities did not match the expectations; for example, bathroom fan sounded like an old war war I prop fighter, children’s play area were by the main hotel room structures and although kids always come first, the sounds of play didn’t match the serenity implied by the surroundings. Finally, the offerings of coffee and tea were scarce and meager, breakfast offering was more like what one would have at acamping trip than at a hotel and since the hotel attracts wedding parties during the summer, the facilities and sitting areas left us with the feeling we crashed a wedding party. Perhaps this was the wrong time of the year to visit that hotel, but given this experience I would rate it between 2.5 to 3 stars at best ...

I will ask housekeeping a maintenance to check on all of the fans. We did have a large wedding party that weekend. They had booked our largest banquet room. All public areas are open to all guests. Since you did not reserve the entire property, like all hotels, there will be other guests in house and you will be sharing the facilities. The number of guests we host does vary significantly depending on the day of the week. From our website: What does your Continental Breakfast consist of? It includes a spread of organic, homemade breads and/or muffins; fruit juices; organic milks; bagels and pastries; fresh seasonal organic fruit; cereals; bread and we can tailor to dietary restrictions with gluten free and dairy free options. Coffee and hot water for tea are also provided. Continental Breakfast is served from 7:30 am until 9:00 am and can vary seasonally. If you have concerns about not having the place to yourself, when you schedule your return visit, please inquiry with Reservations about what events are scheduled to occur during your stay.

Nice, but some things to note

Pros: Close to Rocky Mountain National Park entrance.
Cons: Breakfast, power outlets, grounds.
Location: Close to Rocky Mountain National Park entrance. Pleasant downtown Estes Park although very busy in summer tourist season with parking limited.
Hotel has seen better days but some upgrades have been done. ODD room numbers 101-111 face parking lot, tennis court, and some type of utility building which is the lesser view. Hotel is about 10 minute drive up the mountain. Room was clean, but no AC (not needed during our stay late in July) and limited power outlets. Grounds in need of TLC. Staff friendly and accommodating. Continental breakfast was breads, cereals, pastry and very limited fruit; no hot options. Mostly independent hotels in the area so can't really compare to chains, but value did not seem to be the best for the price.

On our main floor the odd numbered rooms face east and have a view of Twin Sisters mountains. Our even numbered rooms face west and have a view of Longs Peak. On our lower level all rooms face west. Mountain views in a great location. Organic soaps and refreshments are available. Slept very well after a long day of travel.

Nice hotel with an awesome view of mountain

Pros: The quietness and views of Longs Peak.
Cons: No.
Location: It is a short 9 mile drive from downtown Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park.
Dao House is a great place to stay, away from the crowds in Estes Park. It is a pleasant few (9) miles from downtown Estes. It has a beautiful view of Longs Peak. It includes several acres of property to hike on . If you are unaccustomed to the heights in the area, they have an oxygen lounge to help. All staff was wonderfully helpful in suggesting places to sight see and hike in the Rocky Mountain National Park. The head of housekeeping told us, we should feel pampered when there, and she did a great job of keeping our room made up and towels replenished on our 4 night stay. We stayed in the lodge, but Dao House also has several cabins.

Pictures were better than actual experience

Pros: Beautiful location
Cons: Hot breakfast.
Location: Nice secluded place. Lots of hiking.
Everything worked. Shower was hard to figure out. Just muffins, toast, and cereal for breakfast. Not a whole lot of TV channels. Not a place for a honeymoon.
