Deerhurst Resort
"4/5 – Long-time guest, but overdue for updates I’ve been coming to Deerhurst for over 25 years, and aside from the lobby, almost nothing has been upgraded. This visit made that clear. The beds were uncomfortable, and amenities are spread far apart, which got frustrating. Pool access was awkward too. Our fridge had a see-through door that flashed like a strobe light all night. We couldn’t unplug it (food inside), and a towel over it didn’t help. We barely slept. Patios were dirty, covered in spiderwebs, and need repainting. The hot tub was small and full of kids around 2-5years old, despite a sign stating the minimum age is 13-14. The water was visibly green, and lifeguards wore pants instead of swimwear. We got stuck in the elevator with no help arriving — just had to wait it out. Skip the breakfast buffet. Food was underwhelming, and while one server was kind, an older waiter was rude multiple times — telling us to move, to grab our own ketchup, then snapping “I’m not your waiter” over coffee. The shuttle took 15 minutes to arrive (driver was nice), but later nobody came to get us from the beach, so we walked back in the heat. No umbrellas at the pool or beach either. I’ve never written a bad review before — I’m easy to please. But after 25+ years of loyalty, it’s disappointing to see this decline with no real effort to fix it. We won’t be returning until there are real changes. Giving four stars instead of the one it deserves, only because I don’t like being harsh."
