"The Grand Galvez has been our go-to hotel in Galveston since the total redo a few years back. There is nothing like it on the island when it comes to old school beauty. The decor is exquisite in every way. The rooms, although not large, are updated and decorated beautifully. The downstairs bar is like going back in time to the 40’s/50’s. The crowd is obviously “older” than that at the other upscale hotel on the west end of the Seawall. Thats ok since we’re older ! The location is also great since it’s walking distance to Murdoch’s, Miller’s, and the Pleasure Pier and a 5 minute drive to the Strand. "
