With the recent Covid problems I am aware of staffing issues everywhere.However. The bottom sheets on our beds were not even attached to the mattress( just laying on the mattress) there was a dirty fork behind the bedside table- which I noticed while trying to find a place to plug in the alarm clock-except there wasn’t an outlet-so no clock) The A/C either blasted out frigid air or no air at all ( I checked all the a/c settings)There was liter/ pieces of paper, strings and hair - on the carpet in our room. The only ice machine in this huge complex was on the 4th floor. The hotel restaurant was closed down and the outside facilities were very neglected. Huge weeds covering all the flower beds, green stagnated water in the pool and overgrown, trashy tennis court. Very disappointed.

Check in is 4 pm. Called 3 times to check in early at 2, as we were coming a long distance and didn't want to have to go directly to church in wedding clothes. Were told repeatedly, we could probably not check in early and to call back. On day of check in, we were told we would probably be ok to arrive at 2, when we arrived we were told no rooms available. There are 298 rooms in this hotel and not a single room had been cleaned after 2 pm? A second person at reception helped us and we were able to get into our room. Much of the hotel is run down and needs some repairs, paint, etc. They do not have coffee for free. This might sound petty, but every hotel I've been to has coffee in the lobby in the morning for free. We had a very small single cup brewer in our room, but only 1 cup. At the breakfast, which is not included we were told we could purchase a cup of coffee, seems like they could include coffee for guests at over $100 a night in Decatur Illinois.

needs updating

the front desk clerk was very nice and she answered all of my questions very helpful but the hotel is in need of many updates the room was kinda blah looking

Quiet and relaxing

Only stayed here on two occasions when we had to attend funerals of in-town relatives. The staff was very accommodating and sympathetic to our situation. They gave a bereavement rate and bent over backwards to accommodate our family. The beds were comfortable and the rooms very spacious and quiet. The menu breakfast was reasonable in price, quality of the food was good and portions large. Swimming pool was large and very relaxing. All staff members from the lounge, to the restaurant, to housekeeping, to the front desk were all very friendly and polite.

Midwest Big Band Festival

The hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are large and nicely maintained. I appreciate that they allow pets because I hate to leave her in a kennel. We hope to attend the festival again this fall 2007.

awesome hotel

The hotel was beautiful and the staff was soooo nice everywhere we went in the hotel. It was nice to not have to leave the hotel to have a little bit of fun(ie:bar)They even had karoake.
