Room was really clean. But somewhat basic. Property is dated, and so spread out I found myself driving up to the restaurant

The staff members are absolutely rude, no smile, no kindness impression. They looked not happy. We understood the hotel is old, but it’s not acceptable bad smell in the room and bathroom. We asked replacement shower curtain that they made us wait for an hour. However, the food quality were overall good and great location where access most valley attraction easily. Except that, I’d not suggest my network to stay there.

Mixed impressions of this hotel: my wife liked it more than I did. On the plus side, the grounds are clean, green, and attractive, with a nice overall atmosphere. Most of the staff we interacted with were friendly and welcoming. The pool is warm with towels available, the room felt reasonably spacious, and the location is very convenient. However, the condition of our room was not ideal. The bathroom sink was cracked, the toilet door had swollen and didn’t close properly, the fridge door didn’t seal well so food became covered in condensation, and the bathroom fan was extremely noisy. On top of that, there were constant banging noises (likely water hammer in the pipes) every 20-40 seconds, day and night, which made it hard to sleep. We skipped the on-site restaurants: after looking at the menus and reviews, we decided to drive 30-40 minutes to eat elsewhere. Another small but unpleasant moment was when I asked the front desk to reprint my Death Valley pass after I thought I’d lost it. They refused, which felt surprising for a hotel in this price range. The most uncomfortable experience was at check-in, during a power outage, when we were trying to find our building in the dark. I briefly stopped near a gate marked “staff only” and asked an employee for directions. Instead of helping, he told me I was in the wrong place and repeatedly demanded that I leave the property, pointing me back toward the highway, despite me showing him the room key and a map from reception

The staff were great! Every single team member that I interacted with were positive, friendly and helpful. The room was dated and had a funny smell. Unfortunately, guests often fail to consider other guests before allowing kids to yell or run down hallways. Also, The directional signage really needs a review.

The OVERPRICED room had not been vacuumed well. There was visible dust as well. The 1849 Restaurant buffet was overpriced and the lunch offerings were not good at all. Very limited salad bar, gross chicken tenders and barely warm meatballs and mashed potatoes. A complete waste of money. The general store on site was insanely overpriced, which is offensive as there were no other options to get a snack or beverage close by. Plus, there was a power outage for 5 hours the first night and the hotel offered nothing for the extreme inconvenience. I was forced to sit in my $300+/night hotel room IN THE DARK for 5 hours.

Great location inside Death Valley NP. Restaurant options, General Store, ice cream parlour, and nearby gas station were very convenient. Things were expensive, but we expected that to come with the convenience and location. Room was comfortable and spacious.

Front desk cold, unfriendly and short during check in.. Did not warn us we would have to hurtle two double stacked rows of sand bags to enter our building. Took 30 minutes to get different room which was handicap and inconvenient. Both rooms smelled horrible due to cleaning supply choice. Facilities were nice. Lighting was bad. Walking to dinner in dark. Wi fi off from 8pm to 8:30. No warning of that either. No cell service.

Okayish room. Beautiful landscape . Poor service . Terrible internet . 1849 restaurant food was inedible . The wild rose tavern is nice but located ina dark corner of the property behind an unfinished parking lot. Makes it difficult to find it at night. Great ice crew parlour. We had internet services for roughly 3-4 hours per day . I would not recommend a stay at this place . It’s too expensive for the quality of food and service it offers. Death Valley being the spectacular place it is mitigates the challenges of staying here
