Unfortunately when we arrived we realized there was a misrepresentation of the amenities on property such as having a hot tub when there is not one. In addition, we had asked prior to booking if there was construction on property and were lead to believe there was none. Upon arrival there was significant construction around the pool area. All of this we could have looked past but upon entering the building and the unit there was an extremely strong cleaner smell that after an hour was making us sick. We tried to air it out to no avail. We ended up not being able to stay and had to find a new place in a very short time to move to. We respectfully reached out to the host who was very generous and responsive until I asked to be refunded because of the health risk from the chemical smell and the misinformation. At that point she informed us that it was because of our early check-in that the unit smelled so strongly of cleaner and that we did not deserve a refund. Unfortunately I had to take it up with VRBO directly and send pics and conversations as proof to finally get a refund. The view is nice from the unit and it is decorated very cute. The building isnt the most well kept and there was a police presence in the parking lot also upon arrival. It was an unfortunate situation for us.
