Great Value and Location for Oakland/Berkely

Hotel was good with two exceptions. I recall the original Hotel.com description said they had an airport shuttle for the short ride to the Oakland Airport. That was a major reason I booked the Marriott Courtyard. Turns out there is no shuttle. They will however contact Lyft (only)directly to arrange a ride for you and pay for it. Arriving, I did not know this and paid for Lyft, but they don't do reimbursements. For departure, they booked a Lyft for 5 am, but I got a message from Lyft directly that they did not have a driver available, so I paid for my own Uber which showed up 4 mins later. Also, there is no coffee or snacks available in the lobby at any time. And the in-room coffee (Keurig) only came with two very small bottles of water. The desk clerk did give me a pint bottle of water when I arrived back at the hotel late in the evening. But, I would stay there again for the price and location (works for me)

The property, lobby area, was very nice and seemed upscale. The carpeting throughout the hotel floor and into the rooms appeared dirty (possibly the design?) making the room, hotel look dirty. The furniture layout in the room was weird and not very functional. Bed and TV layout didn't work, difficult to see the TV and the couch was placed at an awkward angle that was randomly placed and just didn't work where it was put. Suggest moving things around to make the room feel more functional

The hotel was nice. The front desk reps were courteous and professional, also the housekeepers. I did not like my room was not ready when I checked in and not hot water in shower. Were able to move to another room, but still hot water was tepid, but tolerable.
