Coral House
"Coral house was a perfect stop before heading to Puerto Barrios the next day . We caught the 12pm bus in Belize city and arrived around 6pm. After a 6 hour trip we felt right at home. They have beautiful grounds and warm hospitality. We were starving after our trip but bc it was Sunday everything was closed so we walked about a 15 min walk to Tim's shopping center . Thankfully they were open ! Thanks to the locals who suggested we try them we were able to buy ramen and fruit and other goodies to hold a few teenagers over. We got the Deluxe Suite, 1 Queen Bed with Sofa bed, Ocean View. Our room was fully equipped. My son didnt mind sleeping on the couch in the living room and my 2 daughters had a room and we had a room. The rooms were comfortable, clean and had AC!!! We had breakfast the next morning before heading out! They ordered a taxi for us and thankfully the taxi driver helped us get ferry tickets and even took us to the ATM to go get more money the same morning. He charged us about $20 usd i think. Everyone was willing to help us first timers in Punta Gorda. Make sure you figure out the ferry schedule and have $50 usd pp in cash and your passports ready when you go purchase your tickets. Then get ready to pay $40 usd pp when getting through immigration. They do take cards. We barely caught the 930 am ferry out to Puerto Barrios. Leave before 9am from the Coral House to give you enough time to fill out paperwork at immigration office and do last minute stuff."
