"Disappointing stay, with poor soundproofing and an eye-watering bar bill. The walls are paper-thin, and I could hear practically everything throughout the night. I was eventually woken up at 5am by another guest using their toilet. Nobody expects complete silence in a hotel, but when you can hear ..."

"We could see from the photos that the rooms need revamping & are outdated, but the location is perfect for getting into the city Centre, the breakfast was okay, & they did cook the bacon how we wanted it. It’s just a shame that it needs a lot of modernisation because the hotel itself is perfectly ..."

"Was a lovely hotel the only thing I'd say let the experience down was the fact you didn't receive breakfast and for £260 for the room for 1 night, it would have been nice to have it included."

"Whilst I appreciate that the hotel is a beautiful old building, there are areas which need small things doing that would make the building perfect, such as painting over worn paintwork and replacing worn carpet on the stairs. The service at the hotel was very good. The room was lovely and very old and needed a small amount of repairs to the paint on walls and cracked tiles in the bathroom. The breakfast was just ok. I don't understand in a hotel of this standard why you have to pay an extra £6 for some breakfast items that weren't even anything special. Also the pastries, juices etc weren't replenished regularly so if anyone went for breakfast a bit later there wasn't much to choose from. The hotel is in a great location right in the heart of the village and next to Blenheim Palace."

"The hotel is very nice, room clean with a lovely view of the lake. Food and drinks in the bar were very good with a nice atmosphere The spa was very disappointing though as the pool was far too cold and most of the spa type features (jets etc) were not working. Also we mistakenly left an item in the room which the hotel staff told us was not handed in which is again very disappointing when staying at an upmarket hotel."
