Where to start! I ended my stay early. I am appalled that this hotel is deemed a four star hotel. However, coming from London perhaps one has higher expectations than the average person. The bathroom had black mould in the shower, the toilet seal at the back of the wall was coming off making the toilet very wobbly, the water pressure was terrible. There were bugs in the lamp, stains on the carpet, an empty mini -bar, if you wanted slippers and a dressing gown you had to ask at reception. No laundry bag, half full bottles of soap and shampoo. The cleaners clearly hate their job and as someone with a cleaning background these rooms are not cleaned properly at all and had no eye for detail. I had finished the toilet roll and the empty roll was just left there - not replaced. Clearly no manager is overseeing the cleaners.
The room service food was diabolical - supermarket bought pizza, microwave rice- tasteless chilli con carne. Some staff friendly and some arrogant- particularly the male working behind the desk- told me I had to wait until the next day for someone to sort out the toilet.
If this is Cheltenham's flagship hotel then all I can say is OH DEAR! I will end on one positive thing- dog friendly apart from the restaurant and the grumpy cleaner who gave me a death stare when my dog said hello.
