The room was large, clean and appeared like a new room. Staff was pleasant too. Here are the negatives: First, the heat setting on the thermostat will only go up to 75 degrees. It is designed so you cannot turn it up higher. That’s a problem for me. For one, it is frigid cold with snow and ice on the ground, but moreover, I had my mother with me as we had just left Ohio State Wexner Medical Center where my mom was diagnosed with aggressive pancreatic cancer. They had done a procedure on her and she was cold. I tried to turn up heat and quickly realized they have purposely capped the heat at 75. Well I can tell you the thing ran all night and only stayed about 74and it felt like it was 70. I might expect this from a budget inn, but athe Hampton? Also, no microwave in the room. This probably wouldn’t have been an issue except the breakfast didn’t offer ANY hot food! No anything other than cold snack cakes, cold donuts wrapped in plastic wrappers. I was quite disappointed. My mom finally felt like eating a little and The Hampton Inn breakfast has NOTHING hot. Why? Maybe census was low, but really? Why punish my sick mother? I picked the Hampton because I expected more. You are supposed to get what you pay for. Last week a holiday inn express provided hot breakfast, no heat limit, and ice right down the hall. The Hampton required me to go to floors 2 or 4 for ice. I am REALLY aggravated. First bad experience at Hampton. I won’t stay at one in the future unless it has full heat!

I sincerely apologize for the unfortunate experience you had during your stay. I am so sorry you were not able to get the thermostat past 75, as well as the lack of attention from the front desk agent who did not provide with the correct information regarding our breakfast. We do offer omelets and breakfast that available to heat up. Due to COVID19 we are limited on what we can provide for breakfast. I especially would like to apologize that our staff did not resolve this issue promptly regarding your heat. I truly appreciate you bringing this issue to my attention and I assure you that I have spoken to our team regarding your comments so that this does not occur again. I can guarantee that our main concern is for our guests to have an exceptional stay with us and I regret that we fell short of your expectations.
