Room, staff and grounds were very good. 1) Evening we were there they had a water line repair so water was off for perhaps 30 minutes which was fine. However, once water was back on the water was brown the remainder of our stay no matter how long we ran the sinks. 2) when we arrived at our room after checking in the door was open. Seemed like it merely got left open after cleaning but we did not know if the room was occupied or what was going on.

Had to go to Cheyenne for eye appointments; my wife suggested the Little America there. I was pleasantly surprised how nice it was for an older property, obviously well maintained. The bed was great and had a good assortment of pillows of various firmness. When we checked in we were told there was no water but it would be fixed soon, and it was, a really pleasant surprise. The only negatives were that the heat had been set to 65 and we needed more and it took awhile to get the temperature up; and the little coffee maker didn’t work. Will stay there again.

Water problems

There was a water problem which was not communicated correctly at the beginning of our stay. Apparently a Water main broke, but the front desk told us that it would be only 15 minutes before the water was restored when we arrived at 6:00. The water came on late in the evening, but was brown and scary looking so we were unable to shower or make coffee or drink the water. Then in the middle of the night the pipes sounded like someone was hitting them with a wrench, awakening us every hour or so. I realize this was bad luck and not the hotel’s fault but if we had been told the truth we might have looked for another.

This was the worst experience I have ever had in my years of traveling. Arriving at 4 pm I was told they couldn’t check me in yet because a room wasn’t available yet. 15 minutes later as I was sitting in the lobby they told me I could check in but there was no water available in any of the rooms due to a construction issue. They assured me that the issue would be taken care of no later than 6:30pm. So I checked in and dropped off the bags in my room and opted to go off property for an early dinner. Returning at 6:30 and asking if the water had been restored they informed me it would be 15 more minutes. 45 minutes later it was still not on. I requested a refund and told them I would find another place to stay. Because I booked thru Expedia they informed me it would take at least two weeks or more to issue the refund. No offer of help to find another place to stay. As I sat in the lobby rebooking another hotel they continued to tell other guests 15 more minutes. I understand it was an unpredictable event that caused the disruption but they didn’t handle the situation in a professional way. Certainly not what I would expect from the Little America franchise.
