Good deal to rest your head

Solid value. A basic, park outside your door, American, roadside motel. Clean room, a little worn but just usual wear and tear. Everything worked, no smoke or other odors. Mini fridge was ice cold. Only issue is the thin walls/soundproofing and road noise, but I use a white noise app and am a pretty sound sleeper. All things considered, I'd stay here another night when I'm in the area.

The room was very clean, area quiet and remote. The location is ideal near shops and a mall. Only stood one night but would book again. Oh, the one thing I will say, the queen bed was really a full size, and when I asked the front desk I was told that the bed is "standard queen" hahaha - whatever that means. Either way it wasn't a huge deal. It was comfortable, hot water wasn't delayed at all, the heater and AC were also on point. Overall good stay.

It’s convenient to almost everything . Bed is comfortable, new linens, housekeeping comes everyday to clean the room, provide us clean towels everyday. Front desk staff is very kind. Upgraded us to a bigger room (king bed) without any extra charges. We are from Vancouver BC. We came to Connecticut to attend a funeral. Our 6nights stay at this Inn was very comfortable. Cheshire Inn is highly recommended.

Room 114 had water damage and the light shorted out and then about 30-45 min and then it fell down. I reported it, I was moved to Room 120 but again more water dripping around the ceiling lights and vent in the bathroom. Also the smoke alarm kept going off to the point I went outside to see if the whole hotel had an issue and at that point I realized it wasn’t tied in but separate and the next morning I didn’t reserve again because of smoke alarm not tied in. If there was a fire it wouldn’t alert the rest of the hotel to evacuate because all the alarms are all separate to each room. It needs to be up to code before I return. Because in old buildings fires burn fast and I don’t want to be someplace that’s not protected.

The gentleman at the desk was pleasant. The paint on the walls was chipped, there was copious dust on the lamps. The walls were too thin; we could hear someone cursing loudly in the middle of the night. The heating/AC unit was extremely loud. Not a good experience at all.

I wish I could rate this higher. Overall, the room was clean and tidy, had the essentials for a relatively comfortable overnight stay, and the location is close to a nearby venue. However, when I arrived, I noticed the unit next door to mine had their door ajar, and the smell of cigarette smoke coming out of the room was strong. My room also smelled like stale cigarettes, though technically it was a non-smoking room. I immediately noticed that both of the windows to my ground floor unit were unlocked, which I found a little disturbing. When I left my room to go out for a few hours, there was an older homeless looking person hanging around the unit next door and stared me down hard as I walked to my truck. I almost considered checking back out and not staying, as a single woman traveling alone out of state, I didn’t feel very safe. Luckily, when I got back things were quiet. I stayed. I could hear the tv going next door all night and I didn’t sleep much but otherwise my stay was uneventful. Unfortunately I don’t know that I’d stay again.
