Flights To Santiago de los Caballeros
Few countries are more geographically diverse than the Dominican Republic, with its mountains, desert lands, glorious beaches, and cities crammed with incredible Colonial architecture. Santiago de los Caballeros, or Santiago as it's more commonly known, was founded at the end of the fifteenth century and is the country's second largest city. This city has more than its fair share of classic Spanish-style buildings and numerous other attractions. Santiago flights arrive at Cibao International Airport (STI) as they fly in from overseas. Transportation from STI
You'll want to stay in the hotels near Cibao International if you've just landed in Santiago after a long plane trip. There are varied transportation options once you arrive, from tour buses (useful if you're heading out to one of the beach resorts), and airport and local taxis. The latter is a much cheaper choice when arriving off flights to Santiago. There are also nine car hire firms operating from the airport. Feeling brave? Take a cab or walk the couple miles along the Las Palomas road to Licey, where you can get a local van or gua-gua. Once you're in town, check out the Centro Leon, the modern heart of Santiago with art galleries and more, and the Santiago Monument, on the city's highest hill, as a focal point for local nightlife. Shop along the Calle El Sol and you'll be near the city's museum and other attractions, or chill out in the popular Kaskada Water Park.
