How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Port of Spain

Your trip to Port of Spain begins the minute you've completed all the security checks. We've compiled a list of handy tips to help you get through quickly:

  • Ensure your boarding pass and travel ID are easily accessible. You will be instructed to present them straightaway.
  • Take off your belt and shoes before approaching security. Items such as these are not permitted to pass through the body scanner.
  • Make sure your phone, laptop and other electronic devices are within reach. These items need to be sent through the X-ray machine in separate trays.
  • When it comes to flying with liquids or gels, every passenger is permitted a quart-sized clear resealable bag to keep containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
  • Construction boots and other heavy shoes are most often X-rayed at the security checkpoint. We suggest wearing simple sneakers instead.
  • Some countries have strict biosecurity laws. Consider where you're journeying to and whether or not you're allowed to travel with fresh fruit.
