This is the safest course of action, as metered cabs are known to sometimes take circuitous routes to your destination. There are several prepaid taxi agencies inside, so don't be afraid to shop around if you don't like the rate you're offered. Make sure you get into the same cab you're assigned at the counter. Once you are settled at your Mumbai hotel, hit the streets! Discover the fascinating rock-carved temples of Elephanta Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site, or enjoy a studio tour behind the scenes of Bollywood, the premier Hindi film industry.
