For the price, this hotel was exactly as expected. The check-in process was smooth, and I was given a small welcome bag with snacks and water, which was a nice touch. The room itself was spacious and clean. The lighting was on the low side, but that didn’t bother me since I actually prefer softer lighting. There was an annoying beeping sound every couple of seconds that I first noticed when trying to sleep the first night — and once I heard it, I couldn’t unhear it for the rest of my stay. I later found through a quick Google search that this seems to be a common issue in some Holiday Inn Express locations, related to electrical components in the headboard panel. Luckily, I had earplugs, so I made do. Since I only had a short stay left by that point, I didn’t request maintenance assistance. One disappointment was the lack of Netflix or any streaming options on the TV. Most hotels offer this now, so it felt like a miss. My only options were to use my laptop to stream or settle for local television channels. On the positive side, the location was very convenient — close to my work site, several eateries, and a grocery store — which made getting around easy. Overall, a decent stay for the price with a few minor drawbacks that future guests should be aware of.
