A true nightmare. Upon entering my room I noticed a strong chemical odor and my lungs immediately began burning, I was coughing uncontrollably and gasping for breath; I quickly left the room and returned to the office, they sent a staff member up and found that a careless staff member had left an ozone machine left on. Ozone is highly toxic and can only be used in unoccupied rooms, its a safety hazard and violation of OSHA standards punishable by fines up to $12,000. I was then kept waiting for more than 30 minutes to get a new room, after changing rooms did not receive housekeeping services for two days, TV inoperative, dirty faucet, used coffee cup left in Keurig machine, control panel on microwave broken. There were no paper coffee cups and when I called to report this I was told "you have to come down and get one yourself". Poor attention to detail by staff, poor customer service; will never stay there again

Although the Red Roof Inn Plus in Mount Pleasant is an older property, it is impressively maintained. The rooms are super clean, the grounds are tidy, and the pool area is lovely and well cared for. What truly sets this hotel apart is the staff, from the friendly and accommodating front desk team to the hardworking housekeeping crew. Their kindness and professionalism made all the difference. Kudos to the Red Roof Inn Plus in Mount Pleasant for giving a single mom and her son a clean, comfortable respite while our home was being repaired from a natural disaster. Your hospitality provided us with much-needed peace of mind during a difficult time.

I made a reservation for a handicap room, instead we were placed in a room without handicap facilities and a long walk to get to the room. the bath room door was mis-alligned and would not close, the floors were very slick. I fell and was on the floor behind the door, my wife could not open the door because I was behind it on the floor. For someone alone, this room is a death trap!

The location was everything. Charleston Harbor, shops and restaurants in the Mount Pleasant area, . . . Shem Creek too. It did not disappoint for the price. Just an FYI, as the hotel is somewhat dated, but it was clean, it was safe and the price was unbeatable for being at the base of the Ravenel Bridge crossing over into Charleston.

Room has all needed equipment and is close to the parking area. High deposit for the key card at check-in, loud in the backyard because of the evening celebrating workers (guests?) and machine and vehicle noise in the morning from 5am. Grocery 5 min walk, bus station to the Charleston visitor centre in 15 min walking distance, alternatively 10 min drive.
