The property was old, not maintained well, and not updated. The lobby reeked of marijuana upon entry, and the smell permeated the walls. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets were dirty and looked as if they had not been cleaned for months. I cleaned using one of the washcloths and it was dark brown when I was done. Coffee pot and cookware/dinnerware were available only upon request. Cockroaches kept watch in the bathroom. Breakfast was grab and go style with granola bars and muffins. The swimming pool has long been filled in with cement, leaving an unused patio area.

The room was large and spacious. The air was very cold. The smell was not fresh. There were a few bugs in the room. Not cool! The staff was a little cold at first and then warmed up. The pool was unavailable. A few rooms looked like they were damaged.

The bathroom and refrigerator were spotlessly clean, which is great, though some of our rooms had a musty odor to them. The desk staff could not provide me with an itemized receipt, which I am trying to rectify through travelocity. Without that I cannot get reimbursed. In the morning there were no cups for the coffee, nor bowls for the oatmeal or grits. I was told that the manager had those and she wasn't there. A disturbance on our hall woke us about 1 am, and I looked around for a phone to dial the front desk before realizing that there was no phone. One of our rooms had a sheet with a cigarette burn in it, and one of mine had a tear in it. The hotel is terribly understaffed. The poor woman working behind the counter was having to deal with a thousand things at once. She was very kind and polite, and even set out extra towels for us without our having to ask, but one gets the feeling that she was doing everything on her own.
