Welcome to Monterey Hideaway, our remodeled oceanfront home in the private, gated Monterey Dunes Colony. Just a 30-second boardwalk stroll brings you to miles of peaceful, uncrowded beach. Perched above the dunes, the living and dining rooms offer panoramic ocean views and stunning sunsets. Watch for whales from the window seat, soak in the private hot tub, and drift off to the soothing sound of the waves.

Perfect for family gatherings or three couples, our home features three private king suites with ensuite bathrooms, a bonus loft, and spaces thoughtfully designed for relaxing together while still enjoying privacy.

THE PROPERTY

Monterey Hideaway's split-level design was created around its breathtaking oceanfront setting. The main living and dining areas are elevated above the dunes, allowing everyone to enjoy panoramic ocean views, spectacular sunsets, and wildlife watching from the window seat. Several short flights of stairs connect the home's living spaces and bedrooms, creating a layout that feels both open and private.

OCCUPANCY
- Sleeps 7 (including infants and children, per strict Monterey Dunes HOA rules)
- Hosts up to 10 during the day (up to 3 additional daytime visitors are permitted and must be registered with security in advance)

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
Bedroom 1 – Oceanfront King Suite (Entry Level):
Fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves. This oceanfront retreat features ocean and dune views, a large workspace, sliding glass doors opening onto the oceanfront deck and private hot tub, and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in double shower, double vanity, and private toilet room.

Please note: Five steps down from the bedroom access the bathroom. The hot tub can also be reached via the exterior stairs from the dining room balcony, so other guests can enjoy it without walking through the bedroom.

Bedroom 2 – Courtyard King Suite (Entry Level):
King suite with sliding glass doors opening to the private fenced courtyard, desk, and attached bathroom with shower/tub combination.

Bedroom 3 – Upper King Suite (Main Living Level):
King suite with vaulted ceilings, desk, attached bathroom, and peekaboo views of the ocean, fields, and mountains.

Bonus Loft:
Open loft overlooking the great room with a twin daybed that converts to a king—perfect for additional sleeping space or a second place to relax.

KITCHEN & DINING

The kitchen opens directly to the ocean-view dining room, creating a social space where everyone can cook, gather, and enjoy meals together. Many guests find themselves eating at home more often than planned—it's hard to pull yourself away when the view is this good.

The great room is the heart of Monterey Hideaway, with panoramic ocean views, a spacious sectional, fireplace, and our guests' favorite feature—the oversized window seat overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

It's the perfect place to watch migrating whales, snuggle up with someone you love, enjoy family game night, or simply lose track of time watching another unforgettable sunset.

- DVD player (DVD library provided)
- Bluetooth speaker
- Digital TV antenna for local channels
- HDMI connections for streaming
- Large collection of games, puzzles, books, and family activities
- Please note: We do not have cable TV.

OUTDOOR LIVING

- Private four-person ocean-view hot tub (professionally serviced every Monday and Thursday). Please note: The hot tub is intended primarily for relaxing and soaking. The jets are gentle and are not comparable to a high-powered massage spa.
- Oceanfront balcony off the dining room—perfect for morning coffee or sunset cocktails
- Lower oceanfront deck with direct hot tub access
- Large sheltered courtyard featuring: teak outdoor dining table, covered BBQ area, ping-pong, Pop-A-Shot basketball

A fully stocked kitchen with quality cookware, serving pieces, and thoughtful extras for coastal gatherings, including crab crackers and artichoke plates. Because we use and enjoy this home ourselves, you'll find the kinds of details that make entertaining feel easy—not just the bare minimum found in many vacation rentals.

PARKING
- Two dedicated parking spaces (one garage and one outdoor space)
- Additional guest parking available on a first-come, first-served basis

ACCESSIBILITY
- Monterey Hideaway is not wheelchair accessible.
- The split-level design includes several short flights of stairs throughout the home.
- All stairs have handrails.
- All toilets are ADA height.
- Two of the three toilets include wall-mounted grab bars.
- The great room level bathroom features a low-threshold shower entrance.

SAFETY

Monterey Dunes Colony is a private, gated community with monitored vehicle access and a peaceful, low-traffic setting. The community was thoughtfully designed to preserve ocean views while creating a sense of seclusion, with fenced courtyards, homes carefully positioned to minimize direct sight lines into neighboring homes, and boardwalks connecting the homes, beach, and recreation center. Once you're inside the gates, everything is just a short walk away, so there's rarely a need to get back in the car. The result is a quiet, secluded retreat that feels a world away from traffic and crowds.

DISCLOSURE

A Wi-Fi video doorbell records the front entry and courtyard entrance. Exterior areas only—there are no cameras inside the home or in private outdoor spaces.
