Manager and staff were less than hospitable, attitudes were unfriendly and sometimes downright rude (multiple times using profanity). Room was clean and comfortable. Spotted 2 baby cockroaches near the trash can in the bathroom. Parking was impossible due to staff allowing CalTrans trucks to take up multiple spaces (one of them taking up 5 alone). Will not be returning.

I was hoping to have a wonderful night stay over the holiday, but instead, I was met with unfriendly, unwelcoming, and entitled staff. The room was OK – I didn’t make a fuss over the things I saw. For the price that I paid, I would be beachfront with more options for continental breakfast that are actually edible. I am disappointed and I won’t be coming back here. Next time I’m in the Monterey/marina area.

Pool was open but water was cold, heater was broken. Sink handle fell off when getting ready for a shower. Had to unplug refrigerator to keep it from making a strange loud cluck noise. Air conditioner keep cycling on and off. We turned it off and the room keep temperature though. They did fix the sink handle for us.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hampton Inn in Marina. The staff was very nice, I noticed that the ladies who worked in the breakfast and dining area really took a lot of pride in keeping it well-maintained and clean. My room was extremely clean and nice. A breakfast with a lot of food choices was also provided which I appreciated. I plan on coming back to this Hampton when I return to Marina.

Pros: the bed was comfortable. Free breakfast was decent - two flavors of waffle batter, some type of egg and some type of meat. The furnishings were modern. Cons: black mold in the shower, hair dryer only worked on low. I had to work 7a-7p each day I was there so every time I called the front desk it was the night shift employee who does not have access to the housekeeping storage to get a new hair dryer. He also said he would tell maintenance about the black mold but no one ever came so I cleaned it as well as I could with a paper towel. Won’t be staying here on my next work trip.
