The rooms with a balcony are fantastic! Will stay again in the near future and I highly suggest visiting the fish hatchery at the Bonneville Dam. No fee area and very well maintained. Trout and Sturgeon ponds to view including one big boy that is around 10 feet long.

Columbia River excursion

Pros: The staff were very competent, their facility is well maintained and the staff were very knowledgeable of the region. Concierges were enthusiastic.
Cons: the area is perfect, even with restriction from the forest fires alternate routes were easy to maneuver
Location: Bridge of the gods a must the museum on the Washington is very informative, The walk on Thunder Island is very tranquil to rest the mind.
Drove through the Columbia River Gorge, Hiked trails at Multnomash Falls, Bridal veil and Vista House, very beautiful Scenery, very informative for pioneer history buffs, at Vista House you get a breath takin view of the Columbia River while experiencing a well crafted Art Nouveau memorial to the early pioneers of the Northwest, While trekking through the mountainous forest you have limitless sights of Mt Hood, the Washington River coast line and unlimited waterfall through out the 40mile strip. The 2017 fires have restricted some of HWY 30 but access to all the major points of interest are in place. The facilities are supportive of any sporting activity from Golf to parasailing, very relaxing journey

Great View

The view from our room was amazing. the room does have a very small balcony to enjoy the view of the river and bridge. the information that they don't tell you is there are train tracks just outside the hotel. It was not terribly loud or annoying but you can hear when the trains come and go. And they do come and go through out the night. the pictures of the pool and spa area are very deceiving. They pool is MUCH smaller than it appears in the pictures. The pool was in constant use by children which made the idea of swimming or relaxing in the spa not very appealing to us. The room was nice, and the bed was comfortable. I felt the price was a tad high for the amenities but it does include a very nice breakfast which makes up for the cost. I was overall happy with the accommodations .

Best view of Columbia River

We had a river view with balcony and spent hours relaxing at the end of busy day just watching activity on the river and admiring the view. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. The room was both spacious and comfortable with all amenities possible. Would stay here again and highly recommend.

Pleasant Hotel

Pros: All
Cons: Evening staff weren't the friendliest but not bad either.
Location: Hiking is big and very cool....we went to Lost Lake one day, very memorable!!
We really loved this hotel....if you are traveling in Oregon for vacation you are probably planning a lot of activities....I was sad there wasn't more time to spend in the room it was so nice. Loved the breakfast included being next door at restaurant which was good and had enough selections to eat different each morning. Loved the little local things you could walk to like the famous small (which are very large) soft serve ice cream cones!! Nicely located in the middle of Hood River activities and Portland stuff....not to mention right across the river from Washington State.

Great all-around hotel in midst of great scenery

Amazing suite room and king/hot-tub room. Only negative would be if you don't like train noise in middle of night.

Very convenient location, excellent views over the river

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, river front location, convenience to bonneville dam & bridge of the god
We were pleased to find a hotel of this quality in the very small town of Cascade Locks. The location was great being just several miles from the Sternwheeler dock, Bonneville Dam, and the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center. We enjoyed a spacious room with a wonderful view at the NE corner of one of the upper floors - a large L-shaped room with large windows on two sides looking over and up the Columbia River. The train passes adjacent to the hotel - the sound of an occassional train was not objectionable(another reason to take an upper level room).
