The hotel was amazing, however a few things need to be fixed : - our room phone was not working - no ice machine on our floor - no access to the ice machine on the bottom floor due to renovation and no access to the floor above - reading light was blinking ( they were able to fix that ) - The fridge in the room was not cooling enough.

Overall the property was beautiful but the surrounding area was ok. The hotel food offered variety and the taste was decent. My hiccup with staying here was the inconsistency in customer service. At check in the host told me no parties in the room and guests had to be in the lobby. But my best friend who checked in later did not receive the same speech that I did. On day 2 the hosts profiled one of my friends and demanded that he show his passport in order to get upstairs to visit with us. I asked me best friend if they received the same speech at check in about guests being in the lobby only and she said no. As a matter of fact our mutual friend who was profiled has already been to our rooms a few times over the 24 hours. So we were confused if the guests policy that I received was even a real thing. Lastly on my last day the hostess at the podium at the restaurant stopped me (only) and asked me my room number and explained the entire ordeal for how breakfast was setup. I was confused be I had already been to breakfast a few times over my 5 day stay. So I sat down and started my breakfast. My best friend meets me and I asked her if the hostess gave her a speech and she said no. She just walked right in like we had been doing all weekend. So I will tell anyone thinking of staying here that if you look like Gabrielle Union and Dawayne Wade, you will receive questionable service. If you look like Boris Kudjoe and Nicole Parker then you will be treated excellently.

Lidia make out check in process soo easy!! We were lucky again to have her as our checkout person! From we entered the building the guy at the front door welcomed us, we then was greeted by navier who took us to get checked in, then took us to our rooms with our luggage, he also shared with us some great restaurants and things to do in Cartagena, Lidia was amazing!! After checking in , while settling into our room we heard our room door bell ring, it was a birthday dinner invitation! Listen let me tell you!!! We did accept the invitation but also made reservations outside of the hotel because we wasn’t sure if the dinner would’ve been what we expected for a birthday dinner! But let me tell you!!! This dinner was A if I could’ve given a 10star I would!! It was everything that we didn’t expect it to be! Our server was great! She recommended great options for us! I completely forgot her name but she was great! For the dinner we got appetizer we get a variety of different little finger food it ! It was soo much we couldn’t eat our dinner we had to take it to our room, the appetizers filled us up! We also got dessert we tried a warm cake thingy with hot fudge in the middle and ice cream on the side!! That was great! And we got drinks! Overall our experience at the Hyatt Regency Cartagena was over 10 stars!! House keeping was great! I love the fact that you can only take the elevator to the floor you are staying on and the restaurant, bars and pools. Will definitely staying again

You have to cross a road (with a lots of traffic) to get to the beach. It is a public beach and I they don't allow you to swim. WiFi was poor, althogh I noticed them twice. There was a loud noise many times from 8.a.m. and they didn't lnow where did it came from. There is also reconstruction with a lot of noise. Food is average and not too many choices. Staff is helpful and kind, but with all of that, it doesn't help.
