The location of this hotel is perfect. Directly across the street from a premium outlets and close to many food options. Quick drive to downtown Carlsbad and a stones throw from Legoland. The unfortunate part, the hotel was under construction so access to the pool and gym weren’t possible. The room itself was spacious but in need of some updates and a good clean up. Overall, my stay was fine since location wise it was extremely convenient but I was hoping for something a little nicer and cleaner inside the room.

First of all, the staff are very kind, friendly, and helpful. It would’ve been good to know the property is under construction. And that the pool was not in working condition nor the Jacuzzi or other facilities. I unfortunately had great difficulty finding my room as I was dragging my luggage around the property because I had been guided to building D when my room was in building B. The heater in the room was unworkable, possibly due to the construction. And there was no hot water in the shower. It was very cold at night. I did share this with the operations manager who refunded my room tax and amenity fee. Although I don’t really see how hot water and heat our amenities. But that was the best he could do apparently. I would go back again and give them another shot possibly after their construction projects. It’s a good area, safe and the room was clean.

For it being a resort. It lacks a bit with attention to detail. For example my shower door would not stay closed without holding it. Second the Shower water pressure. I understand the fires and saving water but come on. Can I just take a decent shower without feeling like a criminal locked away. I still give them a better rating than I should have. They have potential. And the Outlet mall is right across the street so that’s a bonus.

We had a great experience at Carlsbad by the Sea, just wished the pool was open. Great location and everything was within walking distance or a short drive!

We stayed for 2 nights. They only gave us one washcloth. We called front desk and they said they would when they cleaned our room. We got back to our room and had extra towels but still only one washcloth and no containers of soap or shampoo or conditioner. Won’t stay here again.

Perfect location. Right across the street from Carlsbad outlet and flower fields. There is a shuttle to legoland. Windmill food hall is literally around the corner. Our room was renovated with new floors and bathrooms but back sliding doors were not updated. Pool was being renovated as well during our stay but it was fine as we went during winter time. Would definitely stay here again because of the location.

A bunch of minor inconveniences, like the refrigerator not working, no hot water, the bed was hard and you can feel the springs, water leak from under the fridge, the dresser drawers wouldn’t stay shut, black mold on shower window. The high price for the room is probably only based on location because the quality is very poor, very similar to staying at your run-of-the-mill standard Motel 6.

Property is under renovation. Lots of jack hammering and loud noise during the day and the room smells very strong chemicals and paint. Pools all caution taped off and can’t be used.

the room door had a big gap letting in light and sound we ask for room to be cleaned because the flopor was dirty & all they did was drop off towels and never refilled the coffee or cleand floor went to the front office to get coffee it was cold , cleark had no idea how to help they need to improve there service level

The hotel is next the exit to I-5 freeway.
