The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. But the room was humid even with the large fan running. It's also not really a quiet place, but it is literally across the street from the castle and the stadium, and Bute Park is wonderful and nearby. However, there are NO laundromats close by, unless you consider a mile walk in 0 degrees and a north wind "close." There is a lift, but it is inoperable. It has been inoperable for quite some time. There was also some question of when the room would be cleaned. I never figured out the schedule, although the workers are lovely and friendly.

Matress was old, terrible draught through windows, no hot water in the morning, terrible signal on tv for most chanels. Tiles broken in bathroom. It’s just an old hotel in need of serious renovation. Room clean and staff polite and helpful. Feel for the staff- as the issues are beyond their control.

Great time at this hotel. Very friendly staff……clean hotel. Great location, it’s a tad older generation of hotels it it’s still plenty of charm. Great value…..sadly the lift wasn’t working. But my bags were brought to my room.

The angel hotel is tired and needs updating but its in a great area . Had dinner in the angel and our food was lovely , cooked well and hot , the staff cant do enough for you and are excellent . we will definetly be comming back as we prefer the feel of a place which was really friendly and comfortable and not so much what needs a paint or update

Room was clean, spacious and warm. Staff were attentive and pleasant, evening meal was really tasty and breakfast was good to. Although looking a bit tired in parts but bare in mind this was a grand hotel in it's day and still is in my mind, no complaints here.

Lift doesn’t work and we had a 2nd floor room, everything a bit dated, whole place needs a refresh. Room was a good size but again needed a refresh. Staff were good. Would stay again as very good value

Great hotel, a mixture of modern and original. Staff fabulous helpful. Rooms comfortable and clean. My daughter said her bed to soft but I loved it. Drink wonderful aftrer being out in our lovely weather it is Wales after all. We love the rain. Only downside is the 4 flights of stairs, we were on the 2nd floor.
