The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. But the room was humid even with the large fan running. It's also not really a quiet place, but it is literally across the street from the castle and the stadium, and Bute Park is wonderful and nearby. However, there are NO laundromats close by, unless you consider a mile walk in 0 degrees and a north wind "close." There is a lift, but it is inoperable. It has been inoperable for quite some time. There was also some question of when the room would be cleaned. I never figured out the schedule, although the workers are lovely and friendly.

I booked and paid extra for a premium room. We were given a very tired looking standard double (4'6" bed). When we queried this, we were initially told that premium rooms need to pre-booked - it was, then told that our room was, in fact, a premium room - it definitely wasn't. We had stayed in July and had a premium room, it was far superior. I emailed the hotel and asked them what the criteria was that differentiates a premium from standard. No reply. I emailed a 2nd and 3rd time, but no-one has had the courtesy to respond. Hugely disappointing. The moral of the story is, dont bother paying extra for a premium room, and staff there aren't that interested in their guests.

Convenient central stay. Hotel living off reputation of name - old and tired. Needs a refurb. Clean and good customer service. Breakfast food quality was average. Perfectly acceptable but could be better. For the cost of the stay, I’d recommend it primarily for the convenient location.

The staff at this hotel were amazing so friendly and on arriving and leaving they carried my luggage down the stairs as it was very heavy The hotel is in a great location for shopping and easy walking to the national express bus only 10 minutes as I needed to get to Heathrow The hotel needs a renovation but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean but the lace curtains really needed washing I also like that the room had a kettle tea and coffee and if I would stay again if I was ever in Cardiff
