The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. But the room was humid even with the large fan running. It's also not really a quiet place, but it is literally across the street from the castle and the stadium, and Bute Park is wonderful and nearby. However, there are NO laundromats close by, unless you consider a mile walk in 0 degrees and a north wind "close." There is a lift, but it is inoperable. It has been inoperable for quite some time. There was also some question of when the room would be cleaned. I never figured out the schedule, although the workers are lovely and friendly.

Lift wasn’t working so needed to carry bags up several flights of stairs. Room was very out dated and in need of modernisation although very spacious. Didn’t stay for breakfast so can’t comment on food.

Good and clean hotel but unfortunately it said it has it own parking which we were told been closed for year now. So we had to park up the road not problem but it a extra £35 on top.

I didnt stsy at the hotel which I am very disappointed because I was looking forward.to some time away.from the place I am living. Due to having Fibromyalgia and peripheral neuropathy I was too fatigued and in too much pain to travel. I really needed this break but it was not to be. If I had had the right support from my GP and the people I live with then I wouldnt be in this state and having a miserable christmas and a up and coming miserable new year. Also, I am out of pocket because the hotel booking is non refundable unless they are willing to reinburse me under the circumstances.

The hotel is spotless and has a great history. It’s perfectly located right in the middle of the city centre, directly in front of the castle. We really enjoyed our stay and it will be our first and only choice next time.
