The rooms were small but that was fine. We were always out exploring and having fun. It was nice to have a breakfast available right downstairs every morning. The staff was pleasant and helped us in every way possible.

Such a convenient location, close to downtown. However it’s a little bit up a hill, which is also great as the views from their upper deck is beautiful! Also no elevators, and if you bring your Ebike they have a location for you to store it But it’s up a flight of stairs. There was a vacant lot next door so instead we locked our bikes there. Awesome continental breakfast, not just a bagel but eggs sausage, english muffins, cereals and mimosas! We really enjoyed our stay and will book again.

Wonderful Hotel

This was a perfect small hotel to stay at during our visit to Catalina Island. It was in a great location. The room and bathroom were small, but we did not require much room. Breakfast was provided which was enough variety with eggs, sausage, bagels, cereal, coffee/tea. There was also wine and cheese offered in the afternoon. The best part was the rooftop lounge area which we used to hang out during different times of the day. It has a spectacular view and is a quiet space to relax and enjoy. The staff was helpful, friendly and attentive. On the day we checked out, our ferry wasn’t leaving until later in the day and we were able to continue using the hotel as our “home base” to change, use the restroom, get water and coffee. This was super helpful so we could enjoy the day. Overall, our experience was wonderful and we would stay there again.

This was my second time visiting Catalina Island. The first time was a cruise day trip, and this time my husband and I came for a two-night getaway. After researching several hotels, we chose Aurora Hotel because of the great reviews and recently renovated rooms. It’s about a 12-minute walk from the ferry—just a slight uphill at the end, so if you have heavy luggage, expect a few pauses. Check-in was quick and friendly. The room was on the second floor (no elevator, but only two floors total). It’s on the smaller side but had everything we needed: a microwave, coffee maker, fridge, two complimentary bottles of water, and even two candies on the bed! The room was super clean with a fresh scent, and there were plenty of towels, robes, and thoughtful amenities like shower gel, body lotion, cotton balls, and ear cleaners. We didn’t use the A/C—just opened the windows. You will hear some golf carts and neighbors, so if you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs or use the A/C instead. The rooftop lounge was one of my favorite parts. It’s open from 8am to 10pm, and I actually took a relaxing nap there in the sunshine. They also offer a continental breakfast; we grabbed yogurt and coffee and headed to a local restaurant for a full meal. Overall, we had a great stay and I would definitely recommend Aurora Hotel for a clean, comfortable, and peaceful Catalina Island stay.

The one thing that I would suggest is the property to have is a golf cart that can pick up there guests at the bottom of the road to the hotel. It’s a steep walk up to the hotel, especially for seniors.
