The staff was great. The room however, dirty dirty sheets, stained with blood and god knows what else. Has to go buy blankets from the store. The bathroom shower had dirt on the ground.

The balcony view

Spent one night on the top floor with the ocean view very nice it's a special historical place to stay. We loved it.

Decent but pricey for what you get

Great location. Overall comfortable hotel - bed was definitely comfortable. Be advised there is no elevator. We were in the highest farthest room (lols!). Hotel is dated. Service was just ok. Room cleaning didn’t happen until really late in the day - so after being out all day it was kind of a bummer to feel like we couldn’t chill in our room. And we had to push for beach towels since laundry was on a different floor than reception and if they were out at reception they didn’t want to make the trek to grab clean ones. They do have luggage storage if you arrive before check-in or have time before your ferry after check-out. So that’s definitely a bonus.

The room is very small there’s no space whatsoever, bathroom is literally a slither of space INACCESSIBLE to the disabled and handicap. There’s no elevator to take you from floor to floor there’s only stairs. We were given a new room due to my mobility issues with the spacing but it was a bit dirty, had stains etc and just wasn’t meeting my needs. Of course they refused a refund when i brought my concern to management even tho Expedia did try to help me get my money back as I couldn’t stay because i could not get around after recently having surgery.

The Catalina Island Inn was a perfect location and had great accommodations for my husband, myself and our 8 and 10 year old granddaughters. I would definitely recommend it with or without grandchildren. It was close to shops, restaurants and the beach. Catalina offers a number of fun things, walking, golf cart rentals, glass bottom boat rides, and mini golf. Of course, the highlight was a pod of dolphins following ferry from Santa Monica.

Basic hotel right off the main drag in Avalon. We stayed in the family room-perfectly serviceable but nothing to write home about. AC is strong and cold, which is a plus in the summer. There was a thin layer of dust all over the bathroom and the shower curtain did nothing to stop water from draining out right onto the bathroom floor, which can get a little treacherous with 4 people showering in the same tiny space
