I booked at the Sonesta Simply Suites Austin the Domain area. I was excited and had high expectations. The main reason I picked this hotel was because there was a kitchenette. As I pulled in I could tell from the outside it was an older hotel. As I walked in to check in there were men outside just starring. I already started to have a weird feeling. As checking in I was trying to be open minded. As I got the key to my room I rushed there. I could already tell that I wasn’t going to safe. The place just seemed sketchy. I got in my room and locked the door. The room had a musky smell. The room was dirty had greasy hand prints all over the furniture. I again tried to be open minded. I told myself I’m only here for 4 nights. I did not feel comfortable to even unpack my suitcase. I went into the restroom where there were pubes in the toilet, the tub was stained dirty and the towels had a funky odor. I still decided to take a shower. While showering the water was collecting and collecting. The shower did not drain. After that I packed my items up and went to the front desk and told the male Matthew that I wanted to check out and get a refund. He asked what was wrong and I told him I didn’t feel safe at this hotel and it was sketchy. He told me since I booked through Expedia I would need to contact them. As I got to my car there were a few roaches on the roof. I quickly got in the car and booked another hotel. I got in touch with Expedia which were so sympathetic and understanding.
