I stayed here for a few nights. The host was very attentive and responsive. The location was great proximity to a scooter ride or walk down town. And free parking was an absolute bonus. Overall it was a good value. However, as a guest mentioned, the property had a strong smell of smoke. I stayed in south Austin for a year and understand some properties may smell like this. Initial scent is very strong but does subside after days. Additionally, the area rug smelled like pet urine. I provided these as a courtesy to the owner for them to attend to. What I didn’t appreciate was reviewing a response to another tenant complaining of the same issue. This was dismissed as it was not previously reported and it was. That wasn’t a truthful response…The couch is not meant for taller individuals and needs a good cleaning. I saw some pest concerns on my last day. The property is aged a bit. But that’s not uncommon for south austin. Especially such close proximity to downtown. But the linens were cheap, some towels soiled, and overall was a very mixed experience. I hope this review facilitates improvement of the property via the host. It isn’t a bad property, but needs action to bring up to par to appropriate standards. To the owner, please be truthful with your patrons about issues reported. As mentioned, great communication and overall potential is great. But things are needed.
