Excellent location, walkable everywhere, tram and bus stops minutes away. I booked the first room double room I saw, which was "souterrain". I didn't know the definition, but found out the room was below the reception level accessible by stairs without elevator access. "Kris" was able to find us a room on the 1st floor accessible by elevator. Bathroom is very small and takes some maneuvering to use. Room was also small but very quite. Breakfast was pretty good with lots of choices, eggs, fish, sausage, breads, cereal, fruits, drinks, etc. Free coffee and tea 24hrs.

A Pink Gem in the Heart of Amsterdam

I research hotels quite heavily when traveling, and I kept coming back to this one. Having never been to Amsterdam before, I wasn’t sure about the location—but it turned out to be perfect for us! About a 5–10 minute walk to the tram, and roughly 30 minutes on foot to Central Station. On our second full day, we didn’t use transit at all—we walked to our Flagship boat tour, the Heineken Experience, Anne Frank House, and Boom Chicago. We walked the entire day, and it was fantastic. As for the hotel: the staff were incredibly helpful, answering every question we had about the area - and we were extremely grateful we were able to check in super early after flying in at 9am! Since it’s a newer hotel, everything felt clean and fresh. We booked the Comfort Room, which was surprisingly spacious for Europe—tall ceilings, blackout curtains, and a larger square footage made it feel comfortable and quiet. Our room faced the interior courtyard. While it didn’t have a view, we didn’t hear any trams or nightlife—just peace and quiet. The doors had some interesting character to them, too—something a little different and quirky that added to the charm. Yes, the stairs are steep (as is typical in Amsterdam), but they do have an elevator. We also loved the 24/7 coffee and tea in the lobby and definitely took advantage of it. And the pink exterior? Adorable. If we return to Amsterdam, I’d absolutely rebook here!

Very surprised as to why Expedia rated this property Very Very Good. The place looks very crummy... our room was so dark. As seniors, the 6-7 steps of stairs as you enter the property was a complete disappointment, as it was very difficult for us to carry our luggage, there was no front desk staff to help us with our suitcases. More importantly, the cost per night is expensive for lack of basic amenities. We had free breakfast, but that too, was left to be desired. Very disappointing and I would rate this as 1 star.
