It did not disappoint; excellent and helpful staff, brilliant location with an easy walk to the old city, a private secure car park, quiet comfortable room, and a good breakfast. "We were really impressed with this hotel. We have toured France for three weeks, Bergerac was our last stop. Having stayed in boutique accommodation with Michelin star restaurants and paid through the nose for it, it was a refreshing change to get good value for money at an equally good hotel like this one. From a great central location you can wander to the beautiful old town easily on foot. The checkin was quick and easy. We took advantage of the garage parking, although there is plenty of metered parking right outside the hotel. The rooms had everything you could need and look to have had a nice recent refurb as decor and electrical items all looked new. The staff were approachable and friendly and if in this part of France in the future we would definitely choose to stay at Hotel de France again."

"This is a lovely little hotel in a quiet area of Bergerac but very close to the railway station. My room was very comfortable and clean with a good bathroom that was also very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very good. I would definitely stay there again."

"Great location just off the motorway, very efficient check in and although the meal we had was expensive for what appeared to be a microwave dish, we were happy as a family to have it available. The room was large, two separate bedrooms and a huge bathroom. Warm, clean and comfortable."
