Upon entering the room the first thing I noticed was the carpet was dirty and had multiple holes in it, a large space where the as advertised picture showed a comfortable chair, no chair. The bed appeared to be clean and the pillows were ok. I noticed dead bugs behind one of the night stands when plugging in my phone charger, I didn't look behind the other one! The bathroom had hair on the floor and I saw small bugs on the floor, needless to say I slept with the lights on. Breakfast was marginal at best the only redeeming quality was the coffee. The shower was ok the water was hot. The washing machine in the ice room was out of order, the out of order sign appeared to have been there for quite a while. I would not stay there again nor would I recommend it anyone. If it had not been so late at night I would have gone somewhere else.

There were numerous dead and alive big black crickets in our room AND in the subsequent room we were given. The response from the unhelpful gentleman at the front desk was, “Well, It’s cricket season in Texas”. If they know there’s an issue, why don’t they take care of it? It’s called pest control! We left and went to another hotel that did NOT have the cricket problem. We did not end up staying at Days Inn yet they are refusing to issue me a refund. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a hotel. How can they justify keeping my money when we didn’t stay there due to the cricket infestation? They are not a good business to deal with.

The GFI (where the hairdryer was hardwired) was not operating. Staff did have a spare for me. Other electrical receptacles were not working. The desk chair could not be raised from lowest seating height. No extra chairs available. The area, and our room, was inundated with crickets, but there were no roaches. A/C worked great, and the bed was comfortable.

I have stayed here before and know what to expect and it was still terrible. One of the worst stays I have ever had anywhere. I was so unhappy with my reservation. I stopped into the hotel at 2:15 on my check-in date and asked for a first floor room and was told that I would receive one and that I did not need to come back at 3 PM (check in time) to check in to get that room. I specifically asked if I needed to come back at 3 pm and was told no. This was on 9/20/2025 at about 2:15 pm. I told the clerk that I needed to go to Winters, Texas and that I would return this evening to check in. When I came back around 7:30 PM there were no first floor rooms and I needed one due to mobility. Now I’m stuck with a two night reservation that I can’t cancel because I booked through Expedia and this is making my life incredibly difficult. Also there are 2 microwaves in this room and one is sitting on the spot meant for a suitcase so it is very inconvenient because my suitcase has to sit on the floor and it’s difficult for me to maneuver. This hotel has bad parking lot lighting and not much parking in the back which is, of course, where my room is. If I wasn’t so tired, I would just eat the cost and go to a hotel with an elevator. Staff will not do anything to accommodate any issues. It’s clear they don’t care and the manager doesn’t care and there is no one at a higher level that cares either. I’m in Abilene a lot for work. I will never stay here again.

Property is old and not well maintained. Carpet in our room had several large stains and was coming up around the doorway to the sink area. I did not remove my shoes while walking in the room. Bath towels also appeared to be stained. Several restaurants within walking distance, however I would not recommend staying here.

This property has definitely been neglected by corporate and is in terrible condition. When I checked in it was dirty, and lamps did not work. The next morning my toilet quit working. Help wanted sign for housekeeping out front, probably because corporate doesn't pay well and it is frankly a rundown truck stop hotel. The washing machine was out of service. The employees that work there are great! The maintenance guy was great! Corporate is to blame here...no investment just taking the money. Wyndham in San Francisco the same rundown, neglected property there too. Wyndham needs to step up and invest in their properties. Don't ever recommend any Wyndham properties, it would be better to sleep in your car!!!
