"Nice new hotel, but can be hard to find"
We liked everything about this hotel once we found it, and that was not easy. Both our GPS and Google Maps, which are usually quite reliable, dumped us on a highway with no businesses on it at all, let alone no hotel. We finally called the hotel from our car to ask for directions, and even that wasn't perfect. We were told it was "behind the Macy's" at a nearby shopping mall. Well, "behind" a department store can be anything. What direction? How far behind? We finally found the hotel at the OTHER END of the mall from where the Macy's is.
But who puts a hotel in a shopping mall? That was what threw us. We saw the shopping mall in our wandering, of course, but there was no sign for the hotel that we saw, and we didn't continue to look around the mall because, as I said, who puts a hotel in a shopping mall? We were not expecting that. When we finally did come to know which building was actually the hotel, we were surprised to see that there is no sign on the building indicating what it is. The only place on the building where it says "Hampton Inn" is just above the entrance, so it's basically at ground level. This is a six or seven story building. The sign needs to be up high, at the TOP of the building, on all sides, so that it can identified from a distance.
As I say, once we found the hotel, we had an excellent experience. It's very new and modern, the amenities are many, and the free breakfast is among the better ones we've come across.
