"HOT PICK!!!!!"
The most welcoming, friendly and accommodating hotel I've stayed in lately. It is the only Native American owned property in Santa Fe and the ambiance and décor reflects just that. This is my second stay and I'm ready to book next year.

"Nice place. a little out of the way, but they make up for it w/ free transportation to town. BUT: Gotta get hi-def TVs and movie channels!!"
Again, good place and nice staff. But the TVs must be two decades old and the absence of movie channels is like a hotel from the mid-80's.

"Beautiful, outdoorsy setting just minutes from the Plaza"
This historic property fit the needs of our family with children perfectly. The junior suite with pull-out bed comfortably accomodated 4 and the historic, adobe buildings are cool and comfortable, even in the scorching heat of July. It is not to the level of a "luxury" resort, largely due to variability in service and amenities. When we checked in, maintenance personnel (instead of a bellhop) were sent to help us with our bags and came in a vehicle so dirty, they refused to put our soft-sided bags in for fear of soiling them. After driving for 8+ hours to get there, this was exasperating. At other times, we had exceptional service, particularly in the restaurant, the stables, and at the poolside grill. The ice machine was broken and their dryer apparently broke, leading to a towel-shortage at the pool. The morning trailride was far superior to most I have done in the past, as the wrangler was knowledable and entertaining and the horses were well-trained and well-cared for. The scenery on the ride was as good as it gets in New Mexico (which is never as breath-taking as Colorado). The hiking trails are well-marked and easy enough even for children and those from sea-level altitudes. The kids club was staffed with enthusiastic teenagers, and our kids had a great time doing arts and crafts and swimming. Overall, we'll be back to Bishop's Lodge, but only for a reasonable rate!

"A Wonderful Experience!"
Even though we had been warned in advance that the hotel was undergoing renovations, the view when we pulled up to La Fonda was disappointing - the entire facade was covered in plastic wrap! I had no idea what we would find inside... But, what a wonderful surprise - the hotel inside is as lovely as ever, and the rooms are all newly renovated and updated with hand-painted headboards, tile artwork in the showers, and lovely Southwestern furniture. I had only booked a standard queen room, but the one we got was on the top floor, with a 10 foot long private balcony overlooking the Loretto Chapel, and a very comfortable king bed with duvet. We also enjoyed breakfast and dinner in La Plazuela, La Fonda's restaurant in a renovated courtyard with a fountain and charming hand-painted glass windowpanes. Because of the ongoing renovations, the pool was closed and some other areas were off limits, but there was no noise or construction interference at all. We were very happy and enjoyed every minute of our 4 nights there.

"A Taste of Northern New Mexico"
This is a beautiful property located around the Loretto Chapel, and conveys the essence of northern New Mexico to the visitor. I find the bedrooms a little dark, at least those on the north side of the hotel, but they are comfortable and well-appointed. We have stayed at this hotel throughout it's history, and continue to find it relaxing and appealing. You should note that there is a daily resort fee, and a daily valet parking fee (pretty necessary because parking in downtown Santa Fe is very limited).

"The room rate was very reasonable, but they will nickle and dime you on everything else."
Their fridge was stocked with Hotel items for you to buy at a very inflated price and there was no room for your own items. The hotel is designed to make it nearly impossible to have your own food and drink in your room, unless you bring your own ice chest. There is no microwave in your room. The restaurant is overpriced but the buffet next to it is reasonable but not cheap nor expensive. I would stay here again and bring my ice chest next time. To use their internet connection is 10 bucks extra a day.

"Wonderful room and staff..restaurant food average."
We found the Eldorado a wonderful place to stay. The staff was friendly and helpful and the facility was very nice. The location is great. Our only suggestion would be to improve the food. We had the dry aged rib eye. It was tough and tasteless. The previous night we ate in the lounge. The burger was good but the steak tacos were dry and tasteless. Five Stars if not for restaurant food quality. So, stay at the Eldorado but eat at the many wonderful restaurants on the square. Tia Sophia and Blue Corn were both excellent.
