Hyatt Place Poughkeepsie / Hudson Valley
"Hotel staff was great. Breakfast was great. Was put in a room where the AC did not work. This was actually the second Hyatt house that I stayed at within a few days of each other Where our AC in the room did not work on days that were extremely hot. They seem to have these sensor systems that only run the AC when there’s movement in the room and then they have it set to a 78° temperature which doesn’t work when outside temperatures are well above the 90s… anyways they said that it would cool off in about a half an hour just like the other hotel told me so my partner and I went to the mall for three hours we came back. The room was still in the 80s so they immediately swapped us into another room which was ice cold and the rest of our stay was perfect from that point on. I don’t know if it’s bad luck that we got two rooms in two different Hyatt house locations where the AC didn’t work or if it’s these new systems that are not the greatest, but someone should look into that if others are complaining about the temperatures in their room."
