Beware of this host! They use shady business practices... I am a regular, avid vrbo user, and I've never had the experience this host provided. I reserved this property one month before my scheduled stay, and just hours before check-in, my reservation was cancelled. My family and I were already driving to the location (with our infant child) when we received the notification that we no longer had the property reserved and our money would be refunded in 3-5 business days. The host uses multiple platforms for marketing and stated that they had double-booked the property, but they didn't realize it until the morning we were to check-in (this is hard to believe and suggested the irresponsibility and dishonesty of the host). It was a busy weekend during spring break, which is why we reserved early. It's clear that they went with the party who paid the higher price. This left me and my family stranded and we had to find somewhere else to stay with our pet, which cost us much more than we had already paid. I would not recommend this listing. I think hosts like this should be banned from vrbo due to the impact this type of incident has on the renters and the credibility of the platform. They should also have to provide proof that shows who booked first and that party should be given priority. It would be even better if they're was a legal renter's contract that holds them responsible for last- minute cancellations, so that this doesn't happen and protects all parties.
