Excellent room cleaning services and breakfast buffet. Very close to public transport and attractions, which was handy! Concierge was very accommodating to any requests/queries, and we were even able to get an early check-in because the room was already prepared :) The only downside is that it seems there is a known fire alarm issue (which happens frequently enough for other reviewers to mention it, too!) Staff did not seem to have a handle on the situation once it went off at about 1:30am (ie.: unclear evacuation/meeting point, nobody at reception/answering phones, no announcements to tell visitors that it was a false alarm for ~10-15 minutes.)

It is very conveniently located to the CBD. We especially liked how close it was to the cruise ship terminal. Also, we were able to take the train from the airport to a station near the hotel then had a short walk to the hotel. There are many attractions that are within walking distance to the hotel.

Even though staying on the 9 th floor, the Grand Hotel bar below us was quite loud with techno music which went on until quite late. Breakfast was good and location very convenient.

I love this hotel with its art deco finishing and fantastic staff. Right next to brilliant bars but oh so quiet when sleeping. Just a quick walk to Circular Quay.
