Great location

We enjoyed our stay at Raccoons Rest. The location worked well for us. The road going to the cabin is a little narrow but still fits 2 cars (tight for 2 big suvs). The community is very nicely maintained. The cabin was VERY clean, the Christmas tree and decorations was a wonderful bonus. The communication with the rental company was A+++, very pleased. Having the added 1/2 bath downstairs was great! My negatives from our stay, the beds where FIRM and not comfortable (for us). The master bathroom was VERY cold, we found where the air was flowing from and just put a towel, it helped a good bit. The blinds could not be adjusted in the master bathroom and there are no blinds in the half bath downstairs that faces the road.

Deceiving photos

Pictures of the property were deceiving, particularly the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms. All were much smaller than expected. Limited space for toiletries and practically nowhere to put clothes during stay in upstair rooms. Although not related to this single property, water pressure was dismal at times barely streaming past the shower head. Master bedroom and bath is very nice. Beds were comfortable. View was also not as expected. Sufficient kitchen and cookware.

Great! But could use a better cleaning.

Thank you for NOT having bed bugs 🥳 We enjoyed our stay, but we would have rated this 5 star if it were cleaner. The floors had been swept and mopped(I'm assuming since my kids feet were not black after running around), BUT there were mouse droppings visible all over the cabin. We live in country/woods and know it's inevitable that you will have mice from time to time. But mouse droppings up and down stairs of the entire cabin.. yuck. You could smell mouse urine in different places in the cabin as well, a couple places in particular the downstairs bathrooms. Like strong mouse urine. We won't mention actually hearing the mice squeak in the middle of the night 🙈🙈 There was visible dust on the doors, ceiling fans, furniture, baseboards.. spider webs in corners especially bathrooms. Last complaint, the electrical outlet in the living room/dining room floor. This was interesting with a 1 year old running around and there was absolutely no safety cover for it. 😩 But like I said to start we really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was beautiful but could definitely use a little better cleaning! I know it's difficult when trying to get renters in and out.... cleaning as quickly as possible but I think people would enjoy their stay more if cleaning was better. It wouldn't take any time at all to wipe down baseboards/walls one a month. Dusting furniture every other week. making sure to get in edges and corners when sweeping and mopping don't forget to sweep under those couch cushions... Maybe some mouse traps.. Hope you find these suggestions helpful so next renters will have the absolute best experience.

Fun Getaway!

We had a great time at Raccoon's Rest! Lovely cabin in a nice area near Dollywood. A great relaxing time with friends. My only request would be that the restrooms be opened at the pool. There are a lot of kids swimming, and with no bathroom - well you know what that means.

Nice cabin

The cabin itself is very nice with lots of room and great views from the porch but there were some issues. The pool table is not level. Our 4:00 check-in time was delayed having to wait on the cleaning service to finish. Most importantly the A/C did not work very well. We had the thermostat set on 70 the entire time but it never got below 76 at night and stayed at 80 during the days. If the A/C is fixed, this would be a great place to stay.
