Problem was the building and rooms themselves were so poorly maintained and there was a problem with mould in most areas. Holes in walls. Tarnished mirrors…the list goes on. I even had to go downstairs to ask for toilet roll. Door security was poor - weak lock and broken latch. I arrived late, was only staying one night and off very early in the morning for ferry. Otherwise I would have left and slept in my car if no alternative. I have stayed in similarly cheap hotels in Mersing which were clean, pleasant and had at least basic amenities. "
