"I'm really torn about this review. This hotel is lovely, with nice staff, a great spot in town and tastefully designed. I would highly recommend, BUT - (although I appreciate its remote island location) a few things need adjusting... I offer this as feedback not criticism as a professional traveller!
1) rooms have adjoining doors with a large gap underneath. Our neighbour woke us up at 0500 watching TV and making phone calls (we could hear every word).
2) the first room assigned only had a bath with a handheld shower. We were moved to a room with a shower. Also no mini-fridge. Would expect in a hotel of this calibre. Please install in all rooms!
3) the bathroom door has to be kept shut overnight as there's no adequate blind so by early morning it's like having a light on.
4) most disappointingly; breakfast lets this hotel down. Only one member of staff overseeing which is simply not enough. Not enough on the plates at the buffet meant guests were constantly asking for refills. The staff were chasing their tails running up and down from the kitchen downstairs, whilst taking orders and clearing tables. We had one extremely diligent staff member for the majority of the week who tried very hard (thank you!), but the lady on the last day could not cope at all. It took 40 mins to get a coffee and we struggled to find a table which wasn't full of dirty plates.
To summarise: would absolutely recommend and stay here again, but hope next time there are more staff at breakfast! "
