About 25 miles (40 kilometers) outside Sando is Santa Marta de Tormes which is home to a range of places to stay, like the Hotel Emperatriz III and Horus Salamanca.
The greater Castilla - Leon region is well worth exploring too. Castilla - Leon is well known for its rivers and lakes, and other common tourist attractions are old towns. Visitors in this pocket of Spain will enjoy rock climbing and mountain climbing.
25 miles (37 kilometers) to the east of Sando, you'll reach Old Town, where you can find Torre del Clavero Tower and Pontifical University of Salamanca. Old Town places to base yourself include the Hospes Palacio San Esteban and NH Salamanca Puerta de la Catedral. Alternatively, you could stay in Bejar, 45 miles (69 kilometers) southeast of Sando, where you can choose between the Hotel Colón and Estudios Sierra de Francia. The Palace of the Dukes of Bejar and El Bosque are a couple of the popular points of interest to experience in Bejar.
Before you say goodbye to Salamanca, you should certainly ensure you are able to see some local sport. Stop by Plaza de Toros La Glorieta, found east of Sando. Find a Travelocity-listed hotel in the thick the sporting action at the Abba Fonseca Hotel or the NH Salamanca Palacio de Castellanos.
