Loved this secure family/handicap friendly resort with excellent food and service! The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The only negative is that check in is at 4pm and even though we checked in earlier in the day, our room wasn’t ready until 5pm. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.

A Family-Friendly Paradise with Endless Amenities! Our stay at El Conquistador Resort was truly unforgettable! This resort is the perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and family fun. From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly, accommodating, and eager to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The private beach was a serene escape—clean, quiet, and ideal for families looking to unwind. We loved spending our days by the multiple pools and the water park, which were spotless and had something for every age group. Dining was a treat, with delicious options throughout the resort. The ice cream bar was a major hit with the kids (and adults!). At night, we looked forward to fireside s’mores, a delightful and cozy tradition that made our evenings extra special. This resort truly shines when it comes to activities. From golfing and tennis to pool tables, there was never a dull moment. We also took advantage of the horseback riding, go-karting, and an exhilarating ATV tour—all of which were well-organized and exciting. It’s a fantastic getaway for families, couples, or anyone looking for a full resort experience. While the spa was lovely, I do wish there were more massage therapists available for couples massages, as appointments filled up quickly. Also, while the room was comfortable and had everything we needed, the showers and tubs could be updated—they were a bit slipper

The property is beautiful with breathtaking views. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately the property was significantly understaffed. If you decide to visit be prepared to stand in long lines at restaurants, to take the ferry to the island, ride the tram, and even get a coffee at the coffee shop.

We really enjoyed this property. It’s absolutely beautiful. The ride out to the island was beautiful and the restaurant on the island amazing. There were several dining options on the property as well that were excellent and provided variety. This property is not in the city. It is actually true vacation relaxation.

El Conquistador is a nice resort with multiple pools and a beautiful view. We had an ocean view room in the La Brisas section of the hotel on the 3rd floor and that was the ideal location because you can access it from either the inside elevators or the outdoor stairs by the pool which was more convenient. I don't recommend getting a room at the marina due to the amount of time getting from the main hotel with all the pools, restaurants and bars. You have to take the funicular to access the marina and there are long lines at times. Food is pricey at hotel and there isn't anything in walking distance. We did take a cab for $30 one way to Los Paraos (Sports bar) and ate a shrimp dinner that was fabulous. Breakfast buffet at hotel is $24. Long lines for the coffee shop which has donuts, bagels and a breakfast burrito to go. Ferry at the marina to get to Palomino Island (beach) takes about 15 minutes but there are long lines to get on the ferry. 1st Ferry is supposed to leave starting at 9 am and every hour. We got in line at 8:20 am and got tired of waiting when the ferry was nowhere in site at 9 am.

This hotel resort is beautiful and very extensive. Lots of entertainment and many food alternatives. I have to say though that the service is very deficient being this type ($$) of resort. On the first night it turned out that the a/c wasn't working properly. After 2 technician checks it was necessary for a room change but there were no rooms available until the next morning which we accepted. It turned out that at front desk there were no annotations of the incident of the prior night; the clerk did not understand the situation. We had to leave our belongings with the bell boy and wait for them to call us. We went to breakfast and returned. Again there were no annotations and again were told to wait for their call. We spent the day without a room, we did not leave the premises loosing out on going to a beach island nearby and our belongings were in a closet. We were finaly called at 5:00 pm. It turned out that no annotations were ever done and no one was taking care of our issue. Our new room was excellent. I did claim the charges of a room we did not have for a day but only was awarded a discount of the room service charges.

The place has beautiful ocean views, spacious pools, and a water park appropriate for the location. What makes it unpleasant is the customer service, and everything related to food is terrible. To check in, you're guaranteed a 40-minute line, as they only had two or three people serving visitors. Due to limited restaurants, I immediately asked for reservations, and there was only room at the "Spanish" restaurant. The dishes were limited, so I ordered a paella and asked the waiter if it was fresh, and he said yes. It turned out they were rice pizzas; they are prepared like pizzas and baked. The floor was very dirty with food. At Ventanas, a Puerto Rican restaurant, the menu is from a food truck. I went for breakfast, and the wait was 45 minutes. The waitress told us she had called us, when there were two of us, and neither of us heard her, and she scolded us for it. I'm sure she jumped us... At the brunch service in the hallway, the wait was similar, but the food was cold and of the same quality as any "chinchorro" or cheap cafeteria in the area. There was a lot of accumulation of plates with leftover food. Ferry trips to Palomino, according to their advertisements, have trips every half hour. This wasn't true, which is why I imagine they don't publish the schedule. During one of the returns, they had people stranded for about an hour and a half. The people who attend this service are very rude and unsympathetic.

Absolutely loved it here. We stayed without our kids, but will definitely be visiting next time with them. There is so much to do for both kids and adults. The only thing I would say is they needed more stuff. You can definitely tell the restaurants and bars were understaffed, but I also went during spring break. Other than that we had no issues. It was absolutely beautiful.

Had too much waiting on doing anything and couldnt get reservations for dining. Not enough places there to eat with the amount of people.
