I recently stayed at the Hyatt in San Marcos and, overall, the experience was mixed. On the positive side, almost every staff member I encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Housekeeping, the breakfast team, and most of the front-desk staff went out of their way to make guests feel comfortable. Their kindness really stood out and made parts of my stay enjoyable. The hotel was clean and had a homely feel. I was happy to feel so comfortable and safe. However, my interactions with one front-desk employee, Kim, were unfortunately the opposite. In my personal experience, she came across as impatient and dismissive, and I noticed similar behavior toward other guests as well. It created a very uncomfortable first impression each time I approached the desk, which was disappointing compared to the otherwise excellent service throughout the hotel. If the hotel addressed this issue, I’d happily consider staying again, because the rest of the staff truly delivered great hospitality.

Probably would have rated it higher if there wasn't the mix up with my early check in. I woke up late that morning so I rushed to check in early only to be told that they couldn't accommodate it. Keep in mind, I called the morning of and they assured me there wouldn't be a problem with an early check in. Other than that, it was definitely one of the better hotels I've stayed at.

The room was super clean and the staff were very nice, professional, and accommodating. I had an amazing stay! I had a long delay for my flight coming into SFO but the staff were super understanding and accommodating. They even upgraded my room free of charge! I’ll definitely be coming back.
