La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Detroit Metro Airport
"I stay at this hotel every time the night before I fly out of Detroit and staff is always super friendly, and helpful, clean rooms and just overall a great experience! This last stay we did have our first issue and it was a big one. I was woke up at 2 in the morning to someone trying to come in our room, thankfully I had put the flip lock on so they couldn’t. My husband got up and saw nothing out the door. Now we are wide awake so we stepped out for some fresh air and came back in and our key wouldn’t work! Went to the front desk and told the night shift worker and he looked very confused and we look down and there is a key envelope with our room number and he then says didn’t you change rooms? Come to find out someone was trying to come in but because the front desk person gave them that room and a key to it! He just said oh sorry like no big deal and fixed our key! Long story short we were not happy! In the end the manager Robin made it right and refunded us for the night and they seemed very sincere in their apology unlike the worker who actually gave someone the key to come in our room that night. Due to how this was handled which was as good as we could expect, we will choose to stay there for our next trip out of Detroit but I do hope they have a serious discussion with their worker. My husband legally carries and many others do as well, it could end very badly for an innocent person coming in a room they were told was theirs, due to an employee screwing up!"
